Relaxation
It sure sounds great doesn't it; relaxation .... but most of us struggle to actually relax or unwind.
We are all so busy living our life's that really life is passing us by. Family, jobs, friends, hobbies; it all takes a lot of time out of our daily doings and when we finally sit down at the end of the day we can feel exhausted, unsatisfied and unhappy.
In this day and age we feel guilty when we take time out to do "nothing". The labeling and finger pointing is all to common these days and because of this we tend to keep busy and keep going.
Running around in circles and accumulating more and more items/things which gives us that false belief that we've made it in life! Yet with more "things" comes more unhappiness; more loneliness.

With the internet comes the being able to hide behind some online persona that pretends to be happy and content.
As much as I love the internet and in general the technology; I'm also very much aware that this creates a distance from our-self. Everything we do these days seems to be in competition mode. The moment you buy a new item it becomes old and out of date. So the pressure is on to be able to continually buy up to date phones, computers, iPads, games etc etc etc.
The only "thing" we can't buy is our happiness, our health, our contentment, our freedom to be who we are. Our minds are continuously bombarded with technology and news flashes about crimes and the likes.
While we are busy chasing all the things we want to have we forget the most important one and that is our true happiness. Try and stop for 1 day and don't listen to the news, don't turn on your computer, no reading of the news paper, no radio broadcasting. Slow down and take in the quietness and then listen to your heart.

Our heart tells us that even though we have so much more; more "things"; more wealth etc we also have more unhappiness, more loneliness, more diseases and most of all; we have more dis-connection with ourselves. This is why we find our-self lost amongst all these great inventions and gadgets.
Things can never replace love and happiness; true gratitude and true friendships.
