Western Australia
Perth, the capital city of Western Australia (WA) is known as the world’s most isolated capital city. The city is situated on the banks of the Swan River which is always abuzz with families and visitors enjoying a picnic and/or walk amongst other things.
This is where I arrived in 1987 and where I spend my first year; right on the foreshore of the Swan River in South Perth. I walked a lot near the Swan River and took my little girl to the playgrounds there where she could have a nice play while I enjoyed the beautiful view.
We would hop on a ferry to Perth to do some sight seeing and shopping in the many shopping malls.
We would catch a buss to Kings Park botanical gardens where you can do the treetop walk and get a unique view of the city.
Kings Park has free barbeque facilities and lots of picnic spots surrounded by gum trees.
Perth has over 80 kilometers of white sandy beaches and the coastline is just beautiful.
